Lessons are approximately 1 hour and include grooming, tacking, riding, and caring for the horse after the lesson. Students are expected to learn to care for tack, clean up after themselves and their horse, put everything back as good or better than they found it. We require a commitment of one semester at a time. Fall semester is Sept-December, Spring semester is January-May. There are summer lessons and camps available in the summer. We welcome the privilege it is to have you at our farm.
We are no longer charging per lesson. Instead, tuition is $200 per month. A couple times a year there will be 5 lessons in a month, and a couple times a year such as Thanksgiving and Christmas, there will be 3 lessons per month. Rather than raise our lesson prices due to rising costs, we have chosen to structure our pricing this way. Tuition is due the first week of the month. A $20 late fee will be assessed for tuition paid after the first week.
These discounted lessons are for pony club members only. Due to the discount, they can not be made up, canceled, or rescheduled.
90 includes two lessons a month on either the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays or 2nd and 4th Wednesdays
Students begin their riding journey at Whitebrook Farm riding in the round pen. This is a smaller riding area where students learn a basic balanced position at the walk, trot, and canter. This is usually a semester when a student is riding once a week. Age, confidence, and physical fitness play factors in some students riding in the round pen for a longer period of time. Our students safety is our number one priority and this is best achieved by developing correct balance, skill, strength, and confidence in our riders from their very beginning. Please read our Skills with Levels document. This details the many different skills we develop in our riders. We follow the pony club certification levels beginning with D1.

DownloadWhile we do provide helmets short term, we STRONGLY encourage students to purchase their own asap. It is the student's responsibility to have a correctly fitted, ASTM/SEI approved helmet in order to ride. If a student does not have a well-fitted helmet, and their isn't one to borrow, they will not be allowed to ride.
Long pants are required. Students are encouraged to purchase breeches, riding tights, or jodhpurs. These are required when riding in English/Dressage saddles to
protect the leather on the seat
Boots are required. These may be hard toed/closed toed boots from Walmart or Target, but you will spend the same amount on Amazon purchasing actual riding boots. These are called paddock boots.
We encourage students to join us for Horse Management class the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month at 4-5 pm. Start by printing the D1 study guide, health and maintenance record book, and ordering the pony club manual.
Keep track of your horse's health and maintenance, including the cost so that you can be prepared to be responsible for your own horse.
The first study guide is D1 level, followed by D2, then D3. You will want to order a pony club manual to help you study and learn.
We are an approved vendor offering riding lessons through several California charter schools. You can reserve your spot with us and order the lessons with your Educational Supervisor.
We serve Mission Vista, Cabrillo Point Academy, Pacific Coast Academy, Inspire Charter School, Sage Oak, Julian, Compass, and River Springs
